Available Facilities

Comparative Medicine operates seven animal housing and/or support facilities.

All facilities for housing animals are registered research facilities under the Animal Welfare Act and are inspected regularly by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

UNMC's program also complies with

the US Government Principles for the Utilization and Care of Vertebrate Animals Used in Testing, Research, and Training, the US Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, the USDA implementing Regulations of the Animal Welfare Act, and The Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
